In a heartwarming act
of compassion, the Zambia Police Service Women Network,
Airport Division Chapter, has donated assorted groceries
worth K10,000 to Kasisi Children’s Home in Lusaka.
The donation, made today, 5th March 2025, in Kasisi, Chongwe
District, comes ahead of International Women’s Day and aims
to support the children's home on its mission to provide
care and shelter to vulnerable children.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Airport Division
Commanding Officer Grace Sanduku, Deputy Commissioner of
Police, commended Kasisi Children’s Home for its dedication
to the welfare of the children.
"As the Zambia Police Service, we appreciate the remarkable
work and sacrifices you make for these children," said Ms.
Sanduku.
She also praised the
kasisi children's home for maintaining a nurturing
environment that ensures the children’s well-being.
In response, Kasisi Orphanage Sister-in-Charge, Sr. Mariola
Mierzejewska, expressed gratitude for the support, noting
that the donation would significantly improve the lives of
the children under their care.
"At Kasisi Children’s Home, we believe in the power of love,
care, and community. These children come from diverse
backgrounds but share one thing in common—the need for love,
support, and a sense of belonging. Your visit reminds them
that they are valued, cherished, and never alone," she said.
Sr. Mariola further revealed that the children's home houses
250 children, with the youngest being just four months old,
while the eldest, at 30 years, is pursuing tertiary
education at the University of Zambia. She also highlighted
the orphanage’s commitment to caring for children with
special needs who require continuous attention.
The Zambia Police Service Women Network’s donation to Kasisi
Children’s Home serves as a reminder of the power of
generosity and the importance of supporting the vulnerable
in society.
