Financial donations to Kasisi Children's Home should be done through Electronic/ International Transfers and not cheques. Please always email Sister Mariola for further instructions and clarifications.

Kasisi Children’s Home urgently needs computers; black school shoes – any size; school bags – any type or colour; Baby formula – NAN 1, 2 & 3; washing powder; bathing soap; pampers (diapers); blankets; and, toys.

 Volunteering at Kasisi Children's Home

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Kasisi Children's Home. Before proceeding with a full application, please carefully review the following information:

Volunteer Requirements
1. Age: Must be 18 years or older.
2. Values: Respect for Catholic values is essential; No Unmarried Couples; Dress modestly and appropriately for a children's home environment.
3. Cultural Sensitivity: Respect for African culture is required.
4. Child Protection: Agreement to adhere to our child safeguarding policy is mandatory
5. Criminal Background Check: All volunteers must undergo and pass a mandatory background check by the police, especially in relation to child safety
6. Teamwork Skills: Ability to work collaboratively with staff and other volunteers
7. Work Ethic: Commitment to actively participate in daily activities and chores

Behavioral Expectations
- No alcohol consumption during your volunteer period.
- No smoking on the premises or during volunteer period.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding the children's personal information and histories.
- Respect professional boundaries with children, staff, and other volunteers.

Financial Considerations
- All personal trips and sightseeing are at the volunteer's own expense.
- Kasisi Children's Home provides free accommodation and three meals a day for volunteers.
- Volunteers are responsible for their own travel insurance and any medical expenses.

Daily Involvement
Flexibility and willingness to assist where needed are crucial. Typical tasks may include the following:
(a) Assisting with educational activities and homework;
(b) Organizing and supervising play and recreational activities;
(c) Helping with meal preparation and feeding younger children;
(d) Assisting with light housekeeping duties; and,
(e) Supporting staff in daily care routines.

Important Considerations
1. Consistency and Reliability: Children in care need stability. Commit to being a consistent and reliable presence during your stay.
2. Cultural Awareness: Be mindful of cultural differences and be prepared to adapt your behavior and expectations accordingly.
3. Child-Centered Approach: All actions and decisions should be in the best interest of the children.
4. Photography Policy: Adhere strictly to our photography policy to protect children's privacy and dignity.
5. Social Media Guidelines: Follow our social media guidelines regarding sharing information about the children or the home.

Health and Safety

- Inform us of any medical conditions or medications that may affect your work

4. Participate in an interview (in person or via video call)
5. If accepted, sign volunteer agreement
