Helping the needy in Africa has always been our big dream! While planning our honeymoon, we contacted the Kasisi Sisters, and this is how we ended up in Zambia.
We met amazing, joyful and love-hungry kids as well as "moms" and sisters who make Kasisi a real HOME for children, where their hearts are "healed".
I am (Veronika) a physiotherapist, so I had the opportunity to exercise every day with wonderful patients such as Aaron, James, Divine, Grace, Luca, Samuel, Judi, Vanessa, Moses, Tapiwa, Amanda, Sekai and Mapalo. I am so joyful because I saw great progress, for example in how Aaron's way of breathing improved and how James became more active.
Michael taught maths to teenagers in Kasisi. In the morning, students from the 12th class came, and in the afternoon, students from the 9th grade. Despite the holidays, everyone wanted to learn.
I will never forget the enthusiasm of Steven, Veronica and Belita; and the singing of Idah, Rita, Cecilia and Miniva while solving the tasks. I keep my fingers crossed for their exams.
In June this year, thanks to our wonderful wedding guests, we collected about 100 kg of physiotherapy equipment, balls, toothpaste and toothbrushes and we took it with us to Kasisi!
