Chaminuka Children's New Year's Day Party

Chaminuka one again organised a New Year's party for our children. Mrs. Sardanis was with us throughout the party, making sure that the children have plenty of food and sweet treats. She also brought the famous Chaminuka band which provided good traditional music and a lot of joy to the children.

We were also very happy to welcome all of our children who work at Chaminuka (Picture on far right, Sr. Jolanta with the boys who work at Chaminuka).

KKIA Children's Christmas Fun
On December 16, the Management of Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (KKIA) invited our children to light the Christmas tree, and to meet Father Christmas. Children received gifts, shared a big cake. They also had a chance of touring the airport. We have also received food and other gifts for all the children.

We are very grateful to the management and staff of the airport for their kindness and thinking of us at this special time. Visit the photo gallery here.

New Children
Annie Grace was only a few days old, Anastasia, Memory and Mercy are already growing fast and we are amused how quickly they grow into nice little toddlers.

Serbian - Croatian and Spanish Group
Friends from Serbia, Croatian and Spanish visited our home and brought a lot of gifts for the children. We are very grateful for their love and support.

We are also very grateful to Dr. Liza Oparaocha for coordinating this visit, for beautiful cakes she has given us and for her continuous help and support.

New House for Our Older Girls
Thanks to Pope Francis and Kasisi Foundation, our teenage girls will have a new, beautiful home. It is family style building with two large bedrooms, sitting room and the kitchen. With the help of one adult our girls will get prepared to live independent life in the future.

As per Holy Father’s request the house will be called The House of Mercy.

Prof. Tsutsumi passes on
In August, we received a sad message from Friends of Kasisi in Japan informing us that our faithful and trusted Friend, Prof. Tsutsumi passed away.

Prof. Tsutsumi worked in Lusaka as a lecturer at the University of Zambia. This was the time he started helping us in every way he could. After returning to Japan, he spread the news about our home among thousands of Japanese people, especially students. He had sent several volunteers who have helped us greatly in many different areas.

Prof. Tsustumi will always remain in our hearts and our prayers. We are grateful to God for sending us such a great person who thought us and many other people that true love knows no borders or distance or race.

We are sharing this loss with the wife of Prof. Tsutsumi and we assure her of our prayers and deep gratitude for the gift of his life and service."

Painting by Suwilanji Banda

Art group
Kasisi children are still very active in the art group. Every Saturday one of Zambian Artists – Daut Makala comes to teach art.

Our children who have already started their independent life are still painting and producing great art.

Stichting Kasisi pays for our mommies
Stichting Kasisi in the Netherlands for helping us to pay the salaries for the 50 mommies each month for some years now.

Mamusia's USA visit
In September Sr. Mariola was invited to visit USA for Mission Appeal. We are very grateful to Rev. Fr. Jan Swiderski for this invitation. We are also grateful to Friends of Kasisi in the US for their kindness and help. Mr William Whelan and Mr Hugh Balloch made this visit very interesting and fruitful.

Meeting with Nenani, Katie and Tamara

This visit brought new friends and supporters for Kasisi. We are also very happy to wonderful American people for all the help given to our children Nenani and Tamara who are studying there (in left photograph).

Heinrich Beverages
We also thank Heinrich Beverages (subsidiary of SAB Miller) for lightening our children's day on September 8, 2016 with the Maheu Mascot. Visit our Photo Gallery for the photo update.

We welcome Maria
... our new and beautiful volunteer - Maria. In the afternoon she is teaching Grade 12 children math and other subjects and in the morning she shares her love with the toddlers in Fr. Edmund's house.
